Bade

Aditya N. Bade, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience at University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), Omaha, NE. Dr. Bade’s research primarily focuses on neurodevelopmental pharmacology and toxicology. His current work is focused on identifying underlying mechanisms of antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) and HIV-1 co-morbidities linked adverse pregnancy outcomes and developing intervention strategies. Notably, he was the first to demonstrate how dolutegravir inhibits matrix metalloproteinases, impacting fetal neurodevelopment, and proposes long-acting injectables as a preventive measure against ARV-linked neurodevelopmental impairments. With 39 peer-reviewed publications in esteemed journals, Dr. Bade maintains a highly productive research profile focused on neuro-health and disorders. His work has been supported by multiple intra- and extramural grants. Overall, Dr. Bade’s overarching goal is to improve health outcomes of HIV-1+ mothers and their fetuses.
