Dr. Luigi Buonaguro is a leading Italian scientist specializing in virology and cancer research. He is the Director of the "Innovative Immunological Models" Lab at the Istituto Nazionale Tumori "Fondazione G. Pascale" in Naples, a position he has held since April 2020. His work is focused on cancer immunotherapy, and he is recognized for pioneering the concept of molecular mimicry in cancer vaccine development. Dr. Buonaguro has coordinated two major European consortia to develop anti-cancer vaccines for hepatocellular carcinoma, leading to the HepaVac-101 clinical trial.
