Mauricio L. Nogueira is a Professor of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at Faculdade de Medicina de SJ Rio Preto (FAMERP) in Brazil. He received a MD and a PhD from Federal University of Minas Gerais and then completed a postdoctoral training at NIAID, Bethesda. Over the years, Mauricio has published over 170 peer reviewed ms, mostly in arbovirus research. He is a former president of the Brazilian Society for Virology and currently a Council Member of the American Committee of Arthropod-borne and Zoonotic virus (ACAV). He is also an Associate Adjunct Professor at the Department of Pathology, University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston.
