David Ostrov received his PhD from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. Dr. Ostrov conducted postdoctoral training with National Academy of Science member Stan Nathenson at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he solved the first crystal structure of CTLA-4. Dr. Ostrov has been at the University of Florida since 2002, where his group solved the first drug/HLA complex structure by X-ray crystallography. His group has extensive experience screening large chemical libraries to identify drug candidates that bind specific proteins, including the SARS-CoV-2 receptor ACE2.
